Just wanted to drop by and give you the heads up on some upcoming events our friend Ashley from Merry May will be participating in!

If you don't know Ashley yet, you should - she won this year's Big Brain Award in fashion for her mobile vintage shop, and also recently won a Best of Phoenix Award for Best Mobile Vintage Shoppe. She's one of Phoenix's coolest movers and shakers and a total sweetheart to boot!

Arizona Costume Institute // Phoenix Art Museum Fundraiser

Has anyone heard of Phoenix Art Museum's group Arizona Costume Institute? I just joined last year and we have such a fantastically amazing group of people, our meetings are so inspiring, and I always learn something at the incredible lectures the museum puts on! We will be watching a great film, have Q & A time with the director, AND you get to dress up! What more do you want? :)

Mark your calendars for an upcoming networking event: Tastemakers Night at Hanny's! 

When: Thursday, July 26 from 7-9 pm (but feel free to stay later and enjoy the restaurant/bar!)
Where: Hanny's, 40 North 1st Street Phoenix, AZ 85004

Hey, Tastemakers, you need to come see this awesome historic place and mingle with likeminded stylish people. Come and go as you please - stop in for a drink or sit and have dinner - and participate in a laid back networking event designed to give you access to the coolest local business owners, artists and bloggers. The converted department store boasts tons and tons of photo opportunities! Bring business cards and an outgoing attitude! You'll need them for a fun activity :)

The Sea @ Phoenix Art Museum

As a member of the Phoenix Art Museum's Costume Institute, I always make it a point to attend the opening receptions of any new feature or show the museum is hosting! The Sea, is no different! I can't wait to see what they have up there sleeve! Maybe it's my longing to be near the water lately but I am captivated by the stunning inspirational photos and what a A list lineup, no? So many fantastic local events for next month's First Friday!

A Successful Launch & A Thank You

Katherine here, trying to put into words all of the excitement, happiness, and complete awe I felt after our Phoenix Style Collective Launch party at the Growop. I'm speaking for myself, but probably for our founding group too, when I say that we want to thank each and every person who came out for the event, shop that donated food, gift card or gift basket, and the family members and friends who made a point to help out in any way they could. 

We'd like to give a special shout out to our event sponsors. Luncha Libre, the gourmet food truck, was cooking up some of the most delicious quesadillas & tortas all night, and the churros were a big hit!

Brenden, from Smeeks, was the culinary mastermind behind all of the treats at the party. The PB&J cupcakes, yellow cake cupcakes with lemon meringue frosting, mixed nuts, pretzel bite sandwiches with meat & cheese and the cashew popcorn with caramel and bacon, were incredible. Each and every one of the items were homemade...we know. It's crazy. Not only that, he was our official name tag button maker for the night, AND donated to the evening's raffle.

We received amazing support from many local shops, who graciously donated to our event's raffle. A huge thank you to Annie Boomer Vintage, Apothecary, Bunky Boutique, Butter Toast, Frances, My Honey Corner, Merry May Handmade, Nostra, Smeeks, Superstition Vintage, Roosevelt Row and Vintage by Misty. We highly suggest checking all of these shops out, they are fabulous!
